Fairbanks High School Announcements

NHS Candidates: 10th, 11th, and 12th graders who have earned a weighted cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher are candidates for selection into the National Honor Society. Students can complete the information packet emailed in the announcements or pick up a paper copy from Dr. Smeenk. Complete packets must be returned by February 10th to Dr. Smeenk. Digital link to packet. 

NHS Induction: The NHS Induction Banquet, formerly scheduled for Wednesday, March 4th, will be moved to Thursday, March 5th, at 7 pm in the HS Gym. If you are a current member or a candidate, please note this date change, as you are required to attend. Also, all Fairbanks Staff are invited to attend the awards ceremony and the following reception.

FCCLA PSA Contest: Attention Fairbanks FCCLA! We are holding a PSA contest from now until tomorrow. Submit a 30-60 second video that shares facts or tips about teens and safe driving to help promote FCCLA’s teens and safe driving project. The top prize will be a gift card of your choice. For more information see the linked  FLYER in the weekly emailed announcements.

FCCLA Event: FCCLA will be holding a Teens and Safe Driving event on Wednesday the 11th from 3rd to 7th period in the common area. There will be a driving simulator, games and more information on how you can stay safe on the road! Be sure to check it out!

26-27 CCP: There will be an important CCP meeting for any new or returning students interested in participating in CCP for the 26/27 school year. The meeting will occur this Wednesday, February 11th from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the MS/HS Media Center. Please plan to attend as we discuss upcoming changes to our embedded CCP classes as well as having the opportunity to speak with several different college representatives.

FFA Strawberry Sale: The Fairbanks FFA Annual Strawberry Sale is underway through February 18th. If interested please see either Mr. Nicol or any FFA member to purchase. Full Flats (8 quarts) are $25 each, Half Flats (4 Quarts) are $15 each  keagannicol@fairbankspanthers.org 

Crush for a Crush: Buy a crush for your crush, a friend, or yourself! Crush pops will be sold during lunch periods from today through the 11th. $2 each. Crushes will be delivered during lunch periods on the 12th. 

FCCLA Week: Hey panthers, FCCLA week is here! Dress up days are: 

       Tuesday 2/10 - “FCCLA Member Appreciation Day” - Wear your FCCLA gear or extracurricular apparel

       Wednesday 2/11 - “Spread the Good Vibes” - Wear bright colors, good vibes apparel or positive message 

                                                    gear 

        Thursday 2/12 - “Staff Appreciation Day” - Dress like your favorite staff member

26-27 Scheduling: The 26-27 high school schedule forms that students received on Friday are due back to the office completed and signed by Wednesday, February 18th.

Dine to Donate At Texas Roadhouse Join LifeWise Fairbanks on Sunday Feb. 22nd from open to close for a delicious way to support LifeWise Fairbank! Dine in or carry-out, and a portion of your bill will be donated to our program. Enjoy a great meal while making a difference - dining with a purpose!

LifeWise Dodgeball Tournament - Thursday February 26th - Mark your calendars and start building your team for the 1st - ever LifeWise Dodgeball Tournament! This high-energy night of fun is open to 5th - 12th graders and will take place on Thursday February 26th at St. John’s Gym. Expect great music, popcorn, and lots of friendly competition as teams battle it out for bragging rights - and prizes for the winning team!  Team Entry: $50 per team (5 players) Sign-up link HERE  Don’t miss this exciting new LifeWise event - bring your friends and get ready to dodge, throw, and have a blast!

Kindergarten Round-Up: Registration for Kindergarten Round-Up is now open. Please use this link to RSVP 2026 Kindergarten Round-UP RSVP. Please note that there has been a change with the age requirement, all kids need to be 5 before the first day of kindergarten rather than by the old 8/1 cutoff.

Panther Market: Did you hear? Panther Market is officially open!  If you would like to place an order, please see the QR code posted around the school or stop by the market during open hours in the morning from 7:45-7:55 am.
