Fairbanks High School Announcements

Juniors and Seniors:   Did you know that Junior and seniors in  40 counties in Ohio can apply to serve as Guardians for our Veterans in Washington, D.C. You will be assigned to one or two senior veterans and spend the day with them on their Honor Flight. There are  4 training sessions. You will build leadership and service experience along with  enjoying  an incredible day supporting American heroes at no cost to you. Apply with a short essay and a school reference. The deadline to apply for the spring flight season is on November 14th. See Mrs. Bartow or Mrs. Jones with questions about Honor Flight. Join to honor those who served! MS/HS Wrestling: The Wrestling programs will continue this year! Practices begin Friday, November 14, running Monday–Friday, 5–7 p.m. in the elementary cafeteria. Tournaments are being scheduled for all groups — MS Boys, MS Girls, HS Boys, and HS Girls. Please remember the K–12 wrestling program is a club sport run by volunteers, and parent help is strongly encouraged to keep it going. See emailed announcements for the link to register. Wrestling Open Mats for all ages will be held from 5-6:30 pm in the auxiliary gym (MS) on the following dates:  Wednesday, 11/12 & Thursday, 11/13.


AP Students: Reminder to AP students,  your Intent to Test paper needs to be submitted to the office today. The deadline for ordering is Thursday! Please check MySchoolBucks for fee invoicing!


FFA Fruit Sale: The Annual FFA Fruit Sale is now  running through November 14th. Please contact Mr. Nicol or any FFA member for details.


FCCLA members:  FCCLA  members, there is a meeting this Friday at 7:20 am in the high school cafeteria. We will discuss our upcoming events and have sign ups for the father daughter dance.


Coach of the Year:  Congratulations to Coach Humphrey for being named  Division 5 Boys Soccer Coach of the Year!


Baseball Fundraiser: The high school baseball program will be hosting a fundraiser at Culver’s tomorrow November 12th from 5:00-8:00 PM.  No flyer is needed. The team will earn a percentage of sales during that time frame from dine-in, carryout & drive-thru orders. Come have some players deliver your meal and support the team at the same time!  Thank you!

Holiday Heart: The holidays can be hard for many reasons, not least of which is the financial strain on a family. If you need assistance this holiday, including groceries, meals or gifts, please complete this form.

Mrs. Hooper or Mr. Cotter will contact you to help connect you with support. We have many generous offers extended to our school community every year, and we would love to help fill your unique needs. All information is kept confidential, both from the donor side and the recipient side.

CLUBS AND ATHLETICS


FCCLA Operation Christmas Child:  Are you interested in helping kids all over the world? Operation Christmas Child is a great way to do just that! There will be a drive for the entire month of October where you can give all different kinds of items that will be sent to over 170 different countries and territories around the world. The list of eligible items will be posted on flyers around the school. If you have any questions, please ask Sam Porter!


Baseball: Softener Salt Sale

The Fairbanks HS & MS baseball teams are selling softener salt. Funds will be used for field materials and equipment. Order forms are attached. Please order by November 15th. Delivery or pick up date is Saturday November 22nd. Thank you for supporting the Fairbanks HS baseball program!   Order Form


Join Us for Panther Pawlooza on November 15: Panther Pawlooza is an adults-only fundraiser that supports all of our Fairbanks high school and middle school student athletes and their uniforms. Each school team receives new uniforms every four years through fundraising efforts by the athletic boosters including the concession stand and Panther Pawlooza. Panther Market: Did you hear? Panther Market is officially open!  If you would like to place an order, please see the QR code posted around the school or stop by the market during open hours in the morning from 7:45-7:55 am.
