Fairbanks High School Announcements

Juniors and Seniors:   Did you know that Junior and seniors in  40 counties can apply to serve as Guardians for our Veterans in Washington, D.C. You will be assigned to one or two senior veterans and spend the day with them on their Honor Flight. There are  4 training sessions. You will build leadership and service experience along with  enjoying  an incredible day supporting American heroes at no cost to you. Apply with a short essay and a school reference. See Mrs. Bartow or Mrs. Jones with questions about Honor Flight. Join to honor those who served! 

MS/HS Wrestling: The Wrestling programs will continue this year! Practices begin Friday, November 14, running Monday–Friday, 5–7 p.m. in the elementary cafeteria. Tournaments are being scheduled for all groups — MS Boys, MS Girls, HS Boys, and HS Girls. Please remember the K–12 wrestling program is a club sport run by volunteers, and parent help is strongly encouraged to keep it going.

AP Students: If you are taking an AP class, reminder  that your Intent to Test paper needs to be submitted to the office today. The deadline for ordering is fast approaching!

Student Council:  The next student council meeting will be on Thursday, November 6, at 7:15 am in the Life Skills room.  Coffee, Hot Chocolate, and pastries will be provided.  

Bowling Tryouts: Those that signed up for bowing for the winter athletic season, try outs will be on Today from 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm at Plain City Lanes. You must have a current physical on file to try out!

Panther Market: Did you hear? Panther Market is officially open!  If you would like to place an order, please see the QR code posted around the school or stop by the market during open hours in the morning from 7:45-7:55 am. We have food items as well as personal care items. The market is located in Mrs. Grimes old office at the rear MS entrance.  For more information, please email us at fairbankspanthermarket@gmail.com

FFA Fruit Sale: The Annual FFA Fruit Sale is now  running through November 14th. Please contact Mr. Nicol or any FFA member for details.

Baseball Fundraiser: The high school baseball program will be hosting a fundraiser at Culver’s on Wednesday, November 12th from 5:00-8:00 PM.  No flyer is needed. The team will earn a percentage of sales during that time frame from dine-in, carryout & drive-thru orders. Come have some players deliver your meal and support the team at the same time!  Thank you! 

Operation Christmas Child:  Are you interested in helping kids all over the world? Operation Christmas Child is a great way to do just that! There will be a drive for the entire month of October where you can give all different kinds of items that will be sent to over 170 different countries and territories around the world. The list of eligible items will be posted on flyers around the school. If you have any questions, please ask Sam Porter!
